Just wanted to update the OR PCT hikers on a section of trail by MT. HOOD.  
Ramona Falls to Lolo Pass.  The upper trail from Ramona Falls to Lolo Pass is 
in very bad shape.  Talked with Steve Queen the PCTA  representative 
responcible for that section, and he stated that the new route is the lower 
trail.  It is not posted as such on any of the signs or brochures.  We hiked 
the upper trail last year and there are three trail spots where the trail is 
extremely exposed secondary to washout on a 90 degree sloop.  Take the lower 
trail.  It is also listed as the horse trail.  It is safer and no longer than 
the upper trail.  Linda
