[pct-l] New On-Trail List?

Something like this was just set up for AT-L.  The AT-News list is a 
moderated list that just includes messages giving information about trail 
conditions and other items of interest for hikers along the trail.  It is 
not, however, used for hiker to hiker communication other than the 
dissemination of trail related info.

Once again though, in this context, you would be back to needing a 
moderator.  Most PCT-L members would subscribe to both and information 
appropriate to the News list would go there so taht people on the trail 
would just stay subscribed to that one list.  The rest of us could stay on 
both lists and not get doubles of everything.

Of course, a Forum mechanism to access via web from libraries and such along 
the way would prevetn anyone from having to actually receive the mail.
