[pct-l] light weight packs?

It was suggested that I post this to this list.  I just joined today, so I 
apologize if this topic has already been discussed.

I am trying to get a finalized list of gear for my upcoming pct thru hike. I 
am a college student on very limited funds. I currently own an arcteryx bora 
80 4500cin capacity (i think). I love my pack. It fits me very very well and 
carries weight well. However, going for the lightweight approach, I am 
hesitant to take this pack which weighs around 7lbs. I don't have much money 
to spend, and every dollar counts right now.
I wanted to get some opinions of the situation. I will be starting on May 
15th. I am worried about the weight of the water in a pack that is not as 
stable and well fitted. Also, as I mentioned money is an issue, and I would 
need to buy the new lighter pack. Is it worth spending the money on a new 
pack? And if so which?
