I guess it doesn't if you HAVE an ice ax.  

Again I'm just repeating a story I got from one of the others that had been 
hiking with him.  It's obvious no one was there with him, so no one knows 
exactly what happened, but when the others stopped and rode out a storm, John 
bailed out.  

As far as I concerned, there's two lessons to be learned there.
