Heard from more than one person that if you take a
train, bus or plane back into the USA, they are very
insistent on seeing a passport. And this was pre-9/11.
I imagine they are even more strict.

Recently, almost had to take a business trip to
Toronto. Before I could go, my company wanted to make
sure I had a passport (which I do).


Different world from a few months ago to say the
least.

An extra ounce in my hiker wallet may be a good thing,
esp. if I already have the passport.
