re: John Muir Trail (JMT) hike (North to South) beginning on/around August 23
I am considering hiking the JMT at this time. I thru-hiked the AT in 1994
and expect the JMT to take me 24 days ... in a "leisurely" manner. Is this
realistic? Will a 15 degree down sleeping bag generally be okay for this
time of year?
Anyone out there looking for a partner? What type of weather can I expect
... any snow? How late can one reasonably hike without hitting the cold of
fall?
I have picked up various books on the trail although am mostly
inexperienced with this type of hiking having done most of my hiking on the
east coast.
Thank you,
