When I had my bivy I just clipped it to a strap on the bivy- and
when it rained I covered it with part of my grnd clth.

I have sinced taken the bivy back to REI (Return and Exchange Indefinitely)
and opted to sew my own tarp with mesh-- lot more convenient
as it is so difficult to cook, change, etc inside a bivy...
