I too prefer to just let rattlesnakes lie when I happen on them, but =
rather than nailing them with a rock or screaming and running the other =
way, a little bit of dust will encourage a rattler blocking your route =
to let you pass by with a minimum of fuss. This is directed to those =
folks with terminal reptile-phobia, hoping to generate a rational =
low-stress reaction to chance meetings with fanged friends. After all it =
is the rattlesnakes keeping the deermice population under control.=20
