Also, the latest hikers through, Josh and Adam, (a.k.a. Bud and NoBo) =
indicate that the snow is indeed melting off rapidly.  They made it =
through the San Gabriels all the way on the trail (they didn't take Hwy =
2), and said it wasn't too bad.   Their accounts agree with your =
assessment on the melt-off, having taken a few days off and returning to =
the mountains to see a substantial decrease in the snow levels. =20
