Crow, Lancaster's a huge place - suburban sprawl from L.A. - and would certainly be useful for re-supply - they've got malls & everything ( ick.) but would you want to? Fortunately, the alignment of the PCT allows you to simply not see most of the Lancaster-Palmdale sprawl. Mojave is a small desert town & may interrupt your journey less than being greeted with suburbia. fwiw, again...Christine
