Summer begins in the N.W. on or about July 15. I have sworn off long backpacks in June. Fourth of July is wet most years - seems to be a transition time from wet to dry season. September is nice 4 out of 5 years and August is perfect 9 out of 10 years. Snow will be down to patches by late June this year
