This should be interesting.
From what Schaffer (guidebook author) said, the USGS maps are not accurate
and a correct lat-long plot of the PCT will miss the topo feature by as
much as 1/2 mile in places, making the trail go over a peak instead of a
pass, for example.
He said he placed the trail relative to map features when he scouted it,
rather than referencing the correct lat-long.
