A vivid memory from our '77 hike: A few miles before we reached Castella, we
were on lovely new trail that abruptly stopped in the middle of nowhere. At
the place where the trail turned into dense forest undergrowth was a stake
labeled "End Project"! I'm glad to hear that the trail is now merely
overgrown, rather than nonexistent.
