RE: [pct-l] Rain Hiking

re: "....in a close-to-insanity state of mind, averaged about 25 mile
days through it cause "there isn't anything else to do except sit in your
wet
tent and mope".

You ultra-heavyweights are the only hikers rigged for six-days of walking in
the rain. Most lightweights would [sensibly] ride out the storm playing
cards while the ultra-lights would walk out to the nearest trailhead [there
to worship Jardine in a trail angel's camp]

It appears that ones experience on the trail depends on packweight style.
The ultra-lights testify of a mind-bending, life-changing experience, a new
look at life if you will. This is, no doubt, due to the extreme pressure and
pain on the spinal column forcing a twisted stance thus changing ones
point-of-view. Now understanding how ultra-heavyweights hike, I can
understand the waterlogged brain characteristics of most of our prominant
ultra-heavweights. [Why else would someone carry a sneeza stove?]
