You mean you kept hiking through that miserable time??! We did for only the
first three days--and then stayed in our tent for the next excruciatingly
boring six days. But we were tired of hiking in miserable conditions in
which we couldn't even enjoy the scenery.

P.S. to Greg: I just joined this list. What a great surprise to see you
here! BTW, Bill, Norm and I continue to backpack together every year. Next
week, in fact, we're going to the site of another PCT week of infamy (and I
know you remember it well!): from Casa Vieja Meadows up Long Canyon to Big
Whitney Meadow.
