All,
I have several very good scales and can usually get an accurate reading:
1-A fully configured Kelty Cloud with padded hipbelt, side pockets, stays,
frame sheet, top pocket and a few gear loops but NOT the back shovel pocket
and WITHOUT a redicilous number of gear loops = 3.5 pounds
2-My thruhiker configuration of main packbag, stays and hipbelt but WITHOUT
top pocket, side pocket, gear loops and frame sheet [use sleeping pad] = 2.0
pounds
3-My "Golite" configuration of main packbag and web hiphelt but without
padded hipbely or any frame equipment [this is basically a rucksack with a
web hipbelt like most custom made packs = 1.25 pounds
As I have posted before, I loved the Kelty padded hipbelt but my wife hated
it. One needs to TRY this product before BUY this product because it MAY be
worth its horrendous price or MAY NOT depending on you. However, I have not
found any dealer in LA that carries it [I called Kelty on this]
Regards
