RE: [pct-l]Boots- what works



What works is less miles man. I tried New Balance running shoes from Hauser
to Lake Morena. They were aweful! The problem was that they moved around on
my feet because they were too big. My feet were tired in 7 miles. Next day I
use my tried and true Danners. My feet hurt after, you guessed it, 7 miles
but a quick application of moleskin saved me -- no blisters in the 14 HOT
miles from the Monument to Hauser. The boots fit perfectly but my feet were
still pounded. I did lose 50 pounds and was carrying a light pack. Feet
still hurt. 

What save me was that I didn't try to walk the entire distance in one day.
If I have neither boot or shoes would have worked.
