[pct-l] Whitney Portal back to Cedar Grove

When I did a similar hike two summers ago, I hitched into Lone Pine from 
Whitney Portal, rode the Greyhound (catch it at the LP Airstrip) to 
Ridgecrest, and split the cost of a rental car back to Lodgepole in Seqouia 
NP with two other backpackers who happened  to be on the bus. Pretty lucky, 
I guess, but it can happen.
