I talked to the owners of Elk Lake Resort tonight and have additional information.  They will accept hikers packages U.P.S.. They do not charge a fee but will not forward your package.  They also will not accept responsibility for damaged or lost packages.  Their plans for this summer include coin-op showers and laundry facilities.
