[pct-l] Cannisters

My first stove was a MSR rapid fire that used isobutane cannisters. I got it
as a gift and used if for about a year till I felt I should switch to a
whisperlite due to the reusablity of the fuel tank as opposed to the
disposable cannisters.

Are cannisters recycleable? If so, how does it work? Do you send them back
to the manufacturer to be refilled?
