[pct-l] ice axe

folks...
i've just about got it. 
at the moment, i've just slipped off my backpack (but
still wearing the training weights on my feet) to ask
you a quick question.  what's the standard ice axe
used out there.  will i be sacrificing safety in
weight if i choose the lightest?  
my feet are a kickin to go,
