re: final questions



Doug: sorry to hear about your financial troubles. I like to describe
distance hiking as " a great lifestyle - if you can afford it!"  Paying for
these things can really suck.  Aren't there benefactors out there that
would pay for our hiking just so they could see us so happy? :)

On to your resupply questions-

As with most things, it comes down to your prefered hiking style.  When I'm
on the trail I like to stay there, so doing the long (7-8 day) hauls are ok
with me.  I've resupplied in both Mojave and Tehachapi in past years, not
enjoying either one, so this year I'm going from the Country Store all the
way to KM.  If I had to choose one or the other, though, I'd go to Mojave
and stay at White's Motel. Friendly folks there and a free ride back to the
trail.  As to the long WA leg, I'm afraid I don't know anything about Trout
Lake.  I just go straight through....
