I carried a tent on the AT and a tarp on the PCT. On the entire PCT trip I
set the tarp up perhaps 10-15 times. I slept out on the ground and it was
wonderful to have the star filled sky as my roof.

Setting up the tarp was no slower than erecting my North Face no-hitch-pitch
tadpole. And, bugs were not a problem for me with a 6 ounce bug bivy
protecting me.
