Interesting topic that I think about too.  I don't believe it has been discussed
much, probably because it's just an individual preference.  Still images are
nice and have their place.  But, if I were to take such as monumental trip , I
would ultimately wish I had taken a camcorder.  And then, as I often do with
other pieces of "only 8 oz. gear, I worry about the extra weight.  A lot of
weight to carry over a lot of steps.  But then again...
