The last I heard Eric was managing a mutual fund.  This is no joke. I read
it in Investors Business Daily and Backpacker or Outside.  It is a long way
from the PCT to Wall Street.

Regardless of whether Eric Ryback actually was the first person to hike the
entire PCT or not, he inspired a lot of people to give it a try. Including
me.

I believe he hiked most of the trail ( such as it was in '72).  He may have
neglected to mention skipping certain parts.  But for an eighteen year out
kid, what he did do was impressive.
