RE: [pct-l] Ultra Tricks



Often too in my case, the priority isn't high miles.  Perhaps the trail is only
3 miles to a lake, where I'm going to be spending most of my time for the next
day or two.  For that, I can carry some extra gear to make the camping side of
it more comfortable.  At 50 years old, I don't mind hauling a little extra
padding to sleep on - maybe some extra warm clothes.  I'll also probably take
the SLR and Mini tripod instead of the small Olympus.  For the sake of better
pictures, I'll haul the extra weight.  Of course, there is my fly fishing
stuff...etc., etc.,.  Still, as you say, all the lightweight stuff is
there......
