[pct-l] Sierra Snow Report #1

As of 1/23/2000 the Sierra snow pack is approximately 1/2 of the 1999 pack
[one of the lightest years on record]. The LA Times reported that some
people believe that Cal is in for a stretch of dry years. This is based on
changing Pacific Ocean temps. Please remember that when the snow melts, not
how much accumulates, is the controlling factor. Last year acted like a
normal year because the snow melted late.
