[pct-l] Hiking Boots vs Trail Runners for Sierra 2017?

Hi M,
I hiked the JMT last August in Pearl Izumi trail runners with a 35 pound pack and had no problems. Of course everyone is different, but I spoke to at least 4 people with hiking boots and blisters. Didn't see any other trail runners while I was out there though.
