[pct-l] Food safety

Hi,

My cousin and I are hiking the Oregon section of the PCT in August and have differing opinions on whether or not we need to hang our food at night. I’ve backpacked many a night in Oregon with my food and stove in an Opsak bag kept in the tent with me without any problems. She feels that’s too dangerous. What’s the general consensus out there? What are most people doing in terms of storing their food at night?
