Dear Panama,
Sounds like you are trying to persuade/convince yourself of something, or that you have a guilty conscience from something in your hiking or life's past. Let everyone know please if you ever achieve your Puritan definition of a PCT thru-hike and if not, why not.

I speak for myself saying I could never accept a metal , medallion , award , certificate unless I completed every square inch in one season.. That's just me baby...:) Maybe you can do half and consider yourself a through hiker ...... but I could never do that even if I was given a ride a quarter mile up the road.. Please understand that's just me! Do whatever you have to do to accomplish your goals whether 98 , 99 or 100 % percent . The 50 yard dash isn't the 49 yard dash. Don't attack me !! Hike your own hike .... All of it or part ! I haven't completed but when I do the word complete will mean exactly that! Hey, that's just me ! Hike your own hike! All or in part ..... Panama
