Tim,
I agree with Shroomer on using a Sawyer filter and his reasons, but 
instead of the mini get the regular size filter. It doesn't weigh that 
much more and it's so much quicker. Also use a 1L plastic bottle instead 
if their bag, which typically rips after about 400 miles (and I was 
careful). I did not use it inline, but instead filtered into two 0.7L 
SmartWater bottles or my 3L Platypus.
