[pct-l] Hikers rescued near PCT in San Gabriel Mountains

A group of 8 hikers from the UCLA hiking club were reportedly rescued from the vicinity of Throop Peak, which is along Section D of the PCT just west of Mt. Baden-Powell in the San Gabriel Mountains.  They were disoriented in the snow, and search and rescue took 6 hours to lower them down icy slopes on a rope.

The snow is relatively light in the San Gabriels right now, but this section gets exciting when icy.  Thankfully the hikers were well enough equipped to wait into the night for rescue.
