Remember Ursacks are not approved for Sequoia/Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Park. See the national park websites for the park superintendent orders on approved canisters.

The wilderness rangers (especially around Tuolumne) are very aware of this and will issue citations, so use at your own risk in these parks.

No there is really no threat to your food from bears in Oregon, we have black ones that have been hunted by man foe years so they are pretty shy. Yes you can sleep with your food if you want. I don’t. I hang my food nightly. The reason is I have woken up many times to rodents off all persuasions nibbling on my food. They like to nibble holes in tents, backpacks and food bags when they can reach them. I have religiously hung my food fro the past 15 years and have enjoyed rodent free food. Some of my camp mates have learned the hard way.
