second that.  We live not too far from Tahoe, that section is incredible,
and the southern half of that section is not as dry as others, though it
will still be dry given the season and the year!  Plus it's really the only
PCT section "near" Tahoe, depending on how you define "near".  Enjoy!  If
you need shuttle help, post here and also consider posting on the Tahoe Rim
Trail Association lists(s).  As a bonus, if the timing works out, you can
stop for chow during the shuttle in Truckee or Tahoe City (Bridgetender is
one winner) or South Lake Tahoe or anywhere in between.
