If you are not feeling optimally trail-strong yet, consider the section from 
Echo Summit, Echo Lakes, Highway 50, South Lake Tahoe to Donner Summit, 
Highway 80, Truckee. It is about 68 miles and Mountain Education runs a Snow 
Hiking Course on it every year. So, at 10 miles per day, you'll get great 
multiple views of Tahoe, a cruise through Desolation Wilderness, and some 
beautiful ridge-walking along the northern Sierra with 360-degree views.

Can someone point me in the right direction to find a portion of the pct 
around lake taho area that could be hiked in 5-7 days during summer? I don't 
even know where to begin to look
