[pct-l] Section F transportation

Is there public transportation from Walker Pass back to Lone Pine, or any other town on the east side of the Sierra?  Alternatively, is it safe to leave a car parked at Walker Pass for 3 weeks?  (BTW, I'm thinking of next spring, not now with winter approaching.)
