[pct-l] Disrespect of the PCT

This is BearVault. One reason we looked into implementing the new bear
canister program where you purchase a canister at KM rather than reserve
one in advance was the increasing trend of unprepared hikers calling us up
at Lake Isabella or even KM asking "Dude, I didn't reserve a canister but
need one...what can you do for me?" That used to be quite rare, but the
trend was quite clear over the years- we experienced it, and it reflected
trends that have shown while today's youth have the highest self esteem
recorded, they are also the lowest scoring group in terms of
accomplishments as measured by a multitude of metrics (SAT scores, high
school graduation testing scores, etc).  You can ponder the causes until
the cows come home (I have xx likes on my facebook page!, honors
recognition is discriminatory against those who don't score as high...etc)
but facts are facts, sadly.

Well we are off to hike for memorial day out of Kennedy Meadows...chow!
