[pct-l] using Amtrak to and from the PCT

They usually ask you to pre-buy tickets for stations that aren't normally
staffed.  It allows the train to know to stop in the case that there is no
exiting passengers at that station as they don't always stop otherwise as
they are often running late and trying to make up time.

If you have a smart phone, Amtrak has an app (at least for Android, don't
know about I-Phone) that you can use to buy at ticket and show an e-ticket
to the conductor when you get on.  Otherwise, you can call them to book a
ticket and they will email you a copy of it.  You'll need to find a place
that can print it (maybe a library) or show the conductor off your smart
phone.
