[pct-l] Wool sweater vs UL Down jacket

PeriGee:

- The down jacket will likely be warmer than the wool sweater (when dry).

- If you plan to wear the garment when hiking, the wool sweater will out perform the down jacket as it will still insulate when wet (from sweat) and dry faster. Down is near useless as insulation when wet.

- With the wool sweater, you will also want a wind blocking layer (wind jacket or shirt, i.e. more weight).

For me, it would be wool sweater for hiking, down jacket for camp. Now, an U.L poly fill jacket may outperform both.
