Hello, everybody! Ned Tibbits, here, from Mountain Education joining
this commentary from the Skykomish Fire Department in Shykomish, WA on
highway 2 going over Stevens Pass.

News this morning: Highway 2 is closed due to another avalanche just
off the east side of the pass. DOT thought they could get the pass
open by 1pm, but really didn't know how deep the slide was, so at 1pm
they changed the re-opening to "indefinite!" The ski area is open on a
reduced basis.

More rain coming in tonight/tomorrow!

Snow Basics Course starting tomorrow night at the Dinsmore's with an
Everett Mountain Rescue presentation to thru-hiker students about
late-season hiking in the PNW, powder snow, and calling SAR for help.

'Till the next time, Play Safe & Stay Found!
