Taking spicy foods with you on the trail is something you may want to try once or twice before committing it to a longer hike and/or resupplys. I love my spicy foods at home, dump a boat load of hot sauce on a taco and eat Jalapeno peppers right out of the jar but, I found eating spicy food on the trail a no go for me. The spicy stuff made me very thirsty, which I didn't need and, also found it to over tax my digestive system while hiking all day. Now, while on the trail, I dump a boat load of "bland" on my food and my body likes that a lot more.

Subject: [pct-l] Spicy Trail Mix Recipe

Does anybody have a favorite recipe for a hot and spicy trial mix (cajun
maybe)? After awhile, we get pretty tired of the standard sweet mix with
chocolate, nuts, raisins, etc. I'm thinking something more savory than
sweet would be good to mix it up. Anything with Cheez-its is a plus!
 Thanks
