Oh, I see. That's too bad. I hope the trail didn't get too badly
burned. It was really very nice.
In 2008 the trail was closed in the same area because of the Apache
Peak fire. I recall when I was eating my Jose burger at Paradise Cafe
that one of the guys there was going to hike an alternate route,
which was to the south of Paradise Cafe and followed some dirt roads
to Idlyllwild. I don't remember him reporting to me how this route
was. I believe the person who I spoke to was Al (AlHaNoCa, aka Len
Glassner). He has been a member on this list but I haven't seen him
post in a long time.
