The level of radioactivity in naturally occurring uranium is very low.
The problem is that uranium is a heavy metal, and heavy metals, like
lead, are bad for you if you are exposed to them for a long time,
especially for children (much less for adults)

If you lived in an airtight house build in that area, you might have
radon gas issues, but drinking the water isn't going to have any
radiation effect.
