All chainsaws drip oil continuously while in operation. One year okay maybe, but year after year after year there will be a buildup. Not good for plants, wildlife or you. Same for machines of most kinds. Its sort of like one person throwing brown bag little toilet paper. One person, not much, but how about a thousand?
