Part of the resort burned down a few years ago and has been rebuilt. It's setting is very picturesque, to the point that filming has taken place in the large meadow in which it is situated with a substantial creek meandering through. I think many picture the Kennedy Meadows South environment. It isn't that. There can be a substantial number of cowboys there as there is summer grazing.

There is a separate stand alone bar. Always a plus for me. Showers with towel are available. Once when I was there and they didn't have room they provided a great campsite at their own private camping area at no charge.

There is a cafe there whose dinner specials have never disappointed. Basically a full three course meal for a reasonable price. I could eat two.

Bridgeport can sometimes be a death hitch in my own experience. I found myself scanning the roadside for the Tomb of the Unknown Hitchhiker. The primary problem is that the return requires leaving the main highway to head West up the Sonora Highway. Some of that traffic I'd headed to the Pickle Meadow Marine Mountain Warfare Training Center or a campground just past it leaving you by the roadside. To add to the experience that area is well posted with signs announcing its prohibited to stop, take pictures or loiter by the Marine Base. KMN, by contrast, is about 12 miles West of Sonora Pass. The entry point runs through a state campground on the left.
