[pct-l] What do you say to mountain bikers on the PCT?

Literally what I said was "You know you're not supposed to ride on
this trail, right?" Of course his answer was he didn't know. I
replied, "That's what all you guys say. Well, this trail is closed to
mountain biking. You should get off your bike and walk because you
aren't allowed to ride here." And then we argued for a while and he
rode away after I stepped aside.

He was an asshole and a jerk for not obeying the rules. It was a warm
Sunday morning on one of the most popular hiking trails in Santa
Barbara and the only one closed to mountain biking. Everybody would
be out on the trail with their dogs and children on such a nice day.
I hope others also confronted him.

Later we hiked on another trail and mountain bikers came down. I said
nothing because there's no prohibition against them on the other trail.
