Hi Porsche,

Now that you are through the worst of the Poodle Bush, watch out for the poison oak. Today I rode through Vasquez Rocks just north of Agua Dulce. Lots of PO in places along the PCT.

Then, as you go north, watch for TICKS.

Have a great hike

Subject: [pct-l] What is NOT Poodle Bush

I'm now through the worst of the Poodle Bush (knock on wood), but I spent the first couple of hundred miles believing that other plants were Poodle Bush, yet another plant replacing the prior as I came across a new one that looked like pot.  It's not like I lacked information.  Halfmile's maps has a whole page describing Poodle Bush, complete with pictures!  I'd googled Poodle Bush images a couple of times before and during the trail.

Despite that, I was unnecessarily doing the Poodle Bush Dance to get by these other innocuous desert plants.  I just wrote a blog post titled, "Every Plant in the Desert Looks like Cannabis" which also includes pictures of what is NOT Poodle Bush, hopefully to help others behind me or others planning on hiking the trail in the future.  Here's the link: http://www.walkonthewildside.site90.com/wordpress/
