I've used Backcountry Navigator Pro on two a Android phones, first a
Motorola Droid X and now a Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx. No problems with
either.

I know it can be a royal pain for some, but maybe a factory style reset and
reinstall and update of programs and updates would bring it's operation
back to like new without the need to buy a new phone?
