I tend to agree. I ship all the time to the UK and we have no problems.
I also ship international for eBay and usually they have an issue with commerce and anything "flammable" including perfume/nail polish.

I'm sure they are not going to open and check where your stuff came from!

you can always call UPS and clarify. But I know people send perfume etc (illegal) all the time and no one bats an eyelid.

I'm a dual citizen. I send packages to Canada ( not on the trail) all the time from L.A. I've sent on trail packages from Vanc to the trail.  My experience is that used clothing can be listed as just that.   You are not involved in commerce. There is a small form ,green I believe that gets filled out for personal items.  Maybe go to a different PO   You are not "importing".  make that clear. Could be cheaper to pick up used clothing from 2nd hand shops on Broadway or Main st once you are in Vanc.   Marmot
