[pct-l] silk liner

I use a Cocoon silk liner that I bought at REI. I have used it during my entire ride of the PCT from Mexico to Canada.

The advantages of using a liner:

1)  On a warm night I might just sleep in the liner (it adds 9 degrees of warmth) , on top of my bag. If it gets cool during the night I just slip into the bag.

2) It keeps the inside of my bag clean.

3) It is easy to rinse out and dry in the breeze.

Thanks

I don't mean to offend trail angels but water caches should be considered a "highly probable" source. Don't bet your life on them. How would you, or the trail angels for that matter, feel if the water cache wasn't enough to serve somebody at the tail end of the herd, perhaps because a thirsty non-thru hiker stumbled across it?

Why not add a tube of peanut butter, a tube of honey, beef jerky, instant oatmeal, dried fruit, and trail mix to your pack? You are going to punish your body enough just with the strenuous activity involved in hiking. Don't compound matters with food depravity.
